Sounds pretty great, can you run me through how the pricing works?
We charge $7,800+GST for the prep and full-day working session, including a three team members (this includes a strategist, copywriter and brand designer).
Alternatively, if you’re a team with a killer solution sketched out and you’re pitching for investment, we’ll run our 9–5 process for a percentage of the total investment you plan to raise from our work together, as long as we believe it has legs to change the world.
Is the end result…erm, sh*t?
No. 😂 Fast doesn’t mean amateur. We’ve got a brand methodology that we’ve refined over the years and are used to coming up with creative miracles on tight deadlines. And the cost is reflective of the talent and speed with which we’ll be delivering these creative miracles to you.
Agencies often waste time with long intro meetings and generally overthink the whole process, when what you really need more than ever is a small, gritty team to co-design with you and come up with something that’s high quality and suitable to get selling now.

Why one day?
You get fresh creative work that comes straight off the back of a conversation. We respond immediately to your energy rather than a week-old brief. There’s not a wasted minute. It’s a fun experience that can instantly arm you with a high-quality and professional brand and copy that will help increase your revenue or stay relevant – not to mention the thousands of $$$ we’ll save you in lost time. To make this possible in one day we do need you to fill out a briefing form so we can do pre-research and planning before the sprint. We'll also talk about your key collateral example which will be different for each client.
What if I don’t like the results?
It takes an entrepreneurial mindset and the trust to make rapid decisions without rounds of amends or weeks of ‘sleeping on it’. We’re not aiming for perfection; we’re aiming for execution, because we know that in order to capture new markets you have to move fast.
9–5 is designed for reaching the next stage – whether that’s investment, sign-ups, or landing your first paying customers. And if you want us to push further, you can always book another day.
What if I want to ‘sleep on it’?
This process is designed to push you as hard as possible in order to get something out quickly in order to make up lost time and revenue to date. The deliverable from the 9–5 process is your MVP, a springboard to hit the market running that can be refined later (which we’d recommend for any modern digital brand). Of course, if you’d like to take the night or a few days to sleep on the work that’s been done and come back with changes, that is completely fine too, but it will lead to lost momentum and additional costs.
What if I don’t need a brand identity and I just want key messaging or a landing page?
If you feel you have parts of this process already completed, we can work to adjust the process to suit you. We can run our 9–5 process for other creative challenges too. Just get in touch with us to discuss how this might work.
Can this process be done virtually?
9–5 was developed during COVID-19 Level 4 lockdown with the idea that the workshop takes place entirely virtually.
Who’s behind the project?
The team at five and dime are storytellers who’ve been working collectively (with specialists from brand to UX, animation to human-centred design), collaboratively and quickly for clients who need to build trust and attention in a digital world. Having worked on a number of startup accelerator programmes, 9–5 was inspired by our involvement coaching the Hack the Crisis NZ 72-hour innovation challenge. With the project team's 35 years of collective experience, we’re seasoned brand and story developers that are looking to support new solutions.
What if I’m looking for a longer process?
